The Cotton Museum at the Memphis Cotton Exchange has attracted more than 40,000 visitors from around the world since opening its doors in 2006, but new executive director Anna Mullins is on a mission to engage more Memphians in the story of the crop that helped shape their community.

Elisa Redmond of Dublin, Ireland, visited the Cotton Museum of Memphis earlier this year, where a series of life-sized mannequins recreate the old trading floor of the Memphis Cotton Exchange.

Memphis Voted a Favorite American City!

The results are in on Travel + Leisure magazine's 2010 America's Favorite Cities survey, and Memphis made the cut! This summer, fans ranked 35 U.S. cities on their culture, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and more. Memphis won the top spot for best barbeque, came in the top 10 for best live music, and was voted in the top 20 for being an affordble getaway destination.

Right before visitors to the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum enter a hallway at the end of the tour that takes them past a guestbook and leads into the gift shop, they’ll walk past a collection of black-and-white photos.

TCB Band Member John Wilkinson Visits Graceland

John Wilkinson, rhythm guitarist for Elvis Presley and original TCB Band member, visited Graceland on Thursday, April 14. Wearing the TCB gold necklace given to him by Elvis, John shared wonderful memories of his friendship with the King of Rock 'n' Roll. John first met Elvis when he was only ten years old and snuck backstage at a concert Elvis was featured in. Years later, the two re-united when Elvis handpicked John to be a part of his TCB Band.  Read more...

Chamber Preps Red Carpet for Mitsubishi

The Greater Memphis Chamber has begun sending out invitations to an event Monday at The Peabody hotel at which a significant announcement will be made.

The invitations include the names of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr. and Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell. The invitations, which also suggest Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay will be in attendance, were sent out to public and private sector leaders Tuesday.
